Ayers Elementary School has been educating young minds and empowering students since 1962. Serving students K-5 and with an enrollment of about 400 students, you will definitely feel like you are part of a community when you are here. Ayers friendly faculty work together as a team, there is a high level of parent involvement and our PTA is excited to welcome volunteers with fresh and new ideas. So, come by and check us out!

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten 2017-2018
Registration Packets for Incoming Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students for the 2017-2018 school year are available in the front office for students who reside within the Ayers Elementary attendance boundaries.

If you missed our registration event on 2/7/17, come to our office between the hours of 8 am and 3:30 pm with your completed enrollment packet and required documents (more information is in our registration packets).
If you do not reside in the Ayers attendance area, you will need to register at your resident school and apply for a transfer with our district (if you are interested in having your student attend Ayers Elementary). Transfer applications will be available for incoming kindergarten students beginning 2/10/17. Applications will be accepted 2/10/17 through 3/1/17. MDUSD will not be accepting transfer applications for incoming Transitional Kindergarten students for the 2017-2018 school year.
AERIES Internet Registration (AIR) is also available to start the process of registering a student for school; this only starts the process, it does not complete it. Parents or guardians will still need to attend the registration event to present completed paperwork (immunization record, birth certificate, residency verification items) to be verified and additional forms specific to Ayers will need to be completed as well. The AIR website is https://air.mdusd.org/air/ if you choose this option.

Information Regarding Rocketship School

Message to Ayers Elementary School Families:
The wellbeing of all students on the Ayers campus has always been – and will continue to be – a top priority for our school team. This priority applies to students at Ayers as well as students at Rocketship charter co-located on our campus. We have worked inclusively and collaboratively with the Rocketship staff to ensure access as required under California’s Proposition 39 – the Facilities for Charter Schools Act. Ayers’ staff has and will continue to work in a professional manner to provide all students with a safe and positive learning environment.
Under the California Education Code (Proposition 39), the District is required to provide the Rocketship charter school reasonably equivalent facilities for 2017-2018. On January 23, 2017, the Board passed a resolution supporting the placement of the charter school in 2 school sites. Under Proposition 39, the District must issue a preliminary, non-binding offer of facilities to the charter school no later than February 1, 2017. The District intends to offer Rocketship a multi-site preliminary offer at both Ayers and another site to be determined. The District is investigating the capacity at the Glenbrook site to accommodate a portion of the charter school’s enrollment. The District will continue evaluating placement options for the charter school prior to issuing a final offer of facilities no later than April 1, 2017.

New Student Registration Information
New Student Registration for All Grades - 2016/2017 School Year
Registration packets are available in the front office. Enrollment is complete when all documents are received. Registration is first come, first serve and all incoming students are subject to overflow if no space is available. Registrations are only accepted with complete enrollment documents within our office hours.
