Ayers Elementary School has been educating young minds and empowering students since 1962. Serving students K-5 and with an enrollment of about 400 students, you will definitely feel like you are part of a community when you are here. Ayers friendly faculty work together as a team, there is a high level of parent involvement and our PTA is excited to welcome volunteers with fresh and new ideas. So, come by and check us out!

Fall Picture Information
Picture day at Ayers was Tuesday, October 4th during the school day. Make-up/Retake day is scheduled for Tues. Nov. 15, 2016. If you forgot to purchase pictures, you can order online at www.inter-state.com/order and use Order Code # 08293ZA.
The Ayers Halloween parade for grades TK-5 will be on Monday, October 31st from 8:00 to 8:15 AM in the back playground area. Students and teachers will march around the playground with their class.
Please remember the following is mandatory for all students participating in the parade:
1. Students are to come to school wearing their costume (over their school clothes).
2. Send your child to school with a bag to place their costume in after the parade.
3. Costumes should be “G” rated and appropriate for an elementary school. Costumes should be in good taste. Remember that it is usually very cold in the early morning hours so dress your child accordingly.
4. No toy weapons will be allowed (this includes toy guns, toy knives, toy sickles, toy swords, bullets, etc.) even if it is part of their costume.
5. No face paint, make-up or hair coloring will be allowed as students will be back in their school clothing immediately after the parade.
6. All TK and Kindergarten students will attend school 7:45 – 11:05.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch our parade.
*Due to the recent media coverage regarding “clowns”, any adults will not be allowed to wear a clown costume (scary or not) on campus.
MDUSD Transfer Information for 2017-2018 School Year
MDUSD Open Enrollment & Transfers
2017-2018 School Year
Intradistrict/SBX5-4 transfer applications for the 2017/2018 school year will be available beginning October 17, 2016 on the MDUSD website, in the office at Ayers Elementary and at the MDUSD main office. Completed applications for grades 1-12 will be accepted between October 17, 2016 and January 17, 2017 for the following school year. Applications will not be accepted after January 17, 2017. Applications can be submitted to resident school, by mail or in person to the Student Services Office, 1936 Carlotta Dr. Concord, 94519.
Applications for incoming 2017/2018 Kindergarten students will be available February 7, 2017 through March 1, 2017.
Intradistrict Transfer Enrollment Terms:
If the elementary transfer is approved by the school district, the transfer is in effect through 5th grade for elementary. Students in 5th grade and 8th grade who wish to apply for an Intradistrict Transfer to middle or high school other than their school of residence must apply for a NEW Intradistrict Transfer to the next grade level. *Please note: Students on Transfers can be displaced prior to September 15 of the first year of transfer by students who reside in the school's attendance area.
Current Ayers 5th grade families: Students currently in 5th grade at Ayers who wish to apply for an Intradistrict or SBX5-4 Transfer to a middle school other than their school of residence should apply for an Intradistrict Transfer during the open enrollment/ transfer period. Please contact our school office if you have any questions on your student’s resident school for 2017/2018.
Inter-District Transfer Information
Inter-District Transfers – This type of transfer is for students who reside outside of MDUSD school boundaries. Inter-district transfers must be filed annually and will be accepted starting February 14, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year.

New Student Registration Information
New Student Registration for All Grades -
Registration packets are available in the front office. Enrollment is complete when all documents are received. Registration is first come, first serve and all incoming students are subject to overflow if no space is available. Registrations are only accepted with complete enrollment documents within our office hours.

on your resident address. Ayers Elem. students split to several different middle schools.
Please use the School Finder feature on the MDUSD website to determine your student's resident middle school for next year.
